In the first few weeks, we were being introduced to the Artifact project. What it would be about, what we would be asked to produce in the end, etc. We did loads of research before we went of and thought of what we would be doing for our final project.
We had lots of practise with taking the pictures, the various different angles and types of shots; as well as practising the printing of the images, so when we get to actually print for our final project we would not mess anything up resulting the outcome to be as perfect and professional as possible.
There was a several different things that we looked at during our research. We looked at different styles and different artists aswell.
We had to choose three ideas and work on all three, but in the end we'd have to pick one and do it for the final project.

Cram picture Ideas
01-07-10
We went out today to take some test shots. The problem I had was that I needed to be in the pictures and be also taking them. Well I kind of had to. At the end I got to take Charlies photos and he took my photos. We took lot's of photos but as we thought only few of them were good. I mean taking pictures of flying bottles smashing on the floor was rather hard, so was me doing parkour. At the start we didn't know how to select the right program that takes many shots in a row. But then I managed to figure it out and we got some pictures taken. I'm not sure if the pictures that we took are enough so I will probably just get some images of Google to get the rough idea of what I'll need to do for my final work. What I figured out is that I'm not going to have my face in any of the pictures. It just works much better. We have been told that we only have about 2 more weeks left so I really have to hurry up and catch up. By tomorrow I have to take all the photos for my final thing.

Well today we had to choose what we'll do. But the idea is that we have to have done research and the actual stuff done in two lessons. I wasn't 100% sure on what to do just yet so I did the research first. Also I didn't really have to time to catch up as much as I would want to because I had 2 science tests in a a week so i had to revise loads.

' Believe '

I did some research on believe and I found this image, which looks useful to me, as I think I might even use this quote in my project. ( Believe in youself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle. - Christian D. Larson. )
The famous quote 'I believe up yo 6 impossible things before breakfast' . I like this quote and it also could become part of my final work.
Philippe Halsman
Life and work
Born to a Jewish family of Morduch (Max) Halsman, a dentist, and Ita Grintuch, a grammar school principal, in Riga, Halsman studied electrical engineering in Dresden.
In September 1928, Halsman went on a hiking tour in the Austrian Alps with his father, Morduch. During this tour, Morduch died from severe head injuries. The circumstances were never completely clarified and Halsman was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment for patricide. The case provoked anti-Jewish propaganda and thus gained international publicity, and Albert Einstein and Thomas Mann wrote in support of Halsman. Halsman was released in 1931, under the condition that he leave Austria for good, never to return.
In 1958 Halsman was listed in Popular Photography's "World's Ten Greatest Photographers", and in 1975 he received the Life Achievement in Photography Award from the American Society of Magazine Photographers. He also held numerous large exhibitions worldwide.

Daliatomicus
The image it self is appearing to be moving in all the ways. The cats seem to flying, so does the chair and the line of water. It works out together quite nicely although it makes you wonder how he took the picture. When I looked at it really closely I saw a hand on the far right corner of the picture. I also saw strings holding up the kittens.
On the picture we got given there was no hand and you couldn't see the strings. The hand had to be photo shop cos it can't just disappear, but I'm not entirely sure.
We then got to try out making our little 'moving' pictures but I haven't printed them out yet as they are saved on Charlie's account.
We've also been introduced into the project we're going to do. It's called 'Believe' and the basic Idea is that you have to make an 3d set up of the maximum of 24 pictures that will have a link to believe and will possibly tell a story. I had a go on thinking about what I could do and the first thing that came to mind was a story about a boy who sat alone thinking about her and wasn't brave enough to come over thinking that he has no chance with her. But one day he just thought, screw this and he came over. He found out that she liked me too but wasn't brave enough to come over and talk with him either. It would end with a happy end.
Although this is a good idea I don't think I will actually be able make it happen plus I don't even know what would exactly be on the images. But that is my idea.

Today we got introduced to the topic we will be doing for the next few months. The topic is wet photography. We also did some research on 3 famous artists - Anthony Gormley, Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst. All of them are artists but each has different kinds of work they concentrate on. All the information I found about them is in my black book.
We also went out to take some pictures. We have each been given a word and we had to concentrate on that word. Our word was space. This was rather harder than it actually sounded. The most obvious reason that came up to my mind was parkers piece. But a shot of just grass wasn't very interesting. So I started to experiment with the camera and instead of just taking strait shots I shot with a frame of a tree to make the picture look as interesting as I could. When we were done with taking the pictures we went to process them into negatives.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today we took some more photos and we printed them out also. We have more experience now as we took and printed many photos. The problem I had was that the film wasn't
put in properly so the first 30 photos I thought I took, I actually didn't. SO I had to go out and redo the shots again. Sadly I had to rush so the phohos I took weren't the greatest. Although the print went okay.
